AI and Trust

Trusting a friend and trusting a service are fundamentally different, and current AI systems are poised to exploit that difference. We will think of them as friends when they are actually services, and confidents when they will be actually collecting data behind our backs. Government is how we create social trust in our society, which requires regulating this potentially intimate technology.

Individual Empowerment and Agency on a Scale We’ve Never Seen Before!

According to Sam Altman, that's what OpenAI promises. Problem is, it can't deliver, because OpenAI is for AI in 2024 what IBM was for personal computers in 1974: still a mainframe company. As individuals, we know more about what we need from personal AI than any of the AI giants of today can guess at. And that's what Doc will talk about.

The AI Accelerated Personalized Computing Revolution

We have had a front row seat as computing has evolved over the last 3 decades – from the desktop PCs to laptop PCs, from tablets to smartphones, and from single-function devices to a plethora of smart devices and wearables. With AI going pervasive on a global scale, we are at the cusp of the next personalized computing revolution – where use cases will truly be optimized for 1:1 experiences. The personal assistant will know who you are, the recommendations will be based on personal context, the personality of the UX will adopt to your likes and dislikes, and the form factors will adapt to your lifestyle. This AI Accelerated Personalized Computing Revolution will be bigger and bolder than anything we have seen in the past with the Internet, Mobile, and Cloud and will transform how we work, play, connect, live, and share. In this keynote, Pankaj Kedia will share his vision for this impending revolution and challenge the audience to solve potential issues in realizing this vision.

Kwaai's Inaugural Personal AI Summit

Kwaai Fundamental Research Leader
Workgroup Leader: Machine Reasoning
Founder and CEO, ThinkingNodeLife.ai

Combining Medicine (MD) and Artificial Intelligence (PhD) at Sorbonne University, Dr. Khai Pham has been in the field of AI for 30 years. Few have tried to work on unifying AI approaches across the different systems, including Machine Learning, Reasoning AI, and Distributed Multi-Agent AI. He is a leading expert in Distributed AI and focuses today on developing the next-gen Generative Distributed Reasoning AI (GDR-AI) that differs from existing Generative AI, such as ChatGPT, by two main elements: it is based on reasoning and not pattern recognition and generates reasoning models (the way humans understand the world and make rational decisions) instead of texts, images, or videos.

He has been a successful innovator and entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. He was the founder & CEO at DataMind, a leading AI company based on the first generation of his Distributed AI Technology. It was used by major financial institutions, marketing centers, and medical manufacturers, and Bank of America acquired the patent in 2012. Later renamed RightPoint, it was acquired by E.piphany (Nasdaq:EPNY) for US$637 Million.

Today, Dr. Pham is the Founder & CEO of ThinkingNodeLife.ai (TNL), the first AI Digital Cells Lab at scale capable of generating the most advanced Digital Human Cell Clones . This allows the prediction and the mechanistic understanding of the impacts of molecules or drugs on any human cells of interest. This impacts the entire drug R&D value chain in multiple ways. TNL provides a decisive advantage for developing both first-in-class drug, by providing mechanistic identification of novel disease-targets, and best-in-class drug, by simulating each drug in various R&D phases. For example, all assets of a pharmaceutical company can be prioritized for early development using TNL’s platform and existing launched products can be quickly repurposed for new indications. The TNL AI Digital Cells Lab has already proven its effectiveness in serving biopharmaceutical customers, particularly in the realms of cancer and autoimmune diseases.  Dr. Pham is also a founding advisory board member of KWAAI.ai, a non-profit AI Research and Development Lab Democratizing AI. He mainly contributes to the AI Fundamentals.

Advancements in Machine Reasoning

In this talk, Dr. Khai Pham will share about how biological inspiration from our thinking mind will help us advance causal reasoning.
